Miriam Dagan

Based in Israel, I'm an on-air reporter, writer and TV journalist, often doing my own shooting and editing. I cover political, social, and cultural topics for German- and English-language media – mainly for the international news broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW-TV). Clients have also included The Associated Press, The Times of Israel, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Der Tagesspiegel, Der Freitag, and pop culture magazine Spex.
My subjects have ranged from eco-tourism in Swedish Lapland to Germany's youngest Michelin star cook, from the changing role of women in ultra-Orthodox Jewish society to Mizrahi culture in Israel. I also cover hard news, such as Israeli elections. Previously, I worked as senior producer of a political TV program at the station i24. Before my relocation to Israel from Germany, I worked for the Deutsche Welle in Berlin, both as a reporter/producer in the newsroom and for a show that reports on culture.
In addition to native English and German, I speak proficient Hebrew and working Spanish and French. I have a Master's degree in American studies, political science and art history from Berlin's Humboldt University and have held fellowships at the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation, German Academic Exchange Service and International Journalists' Programmes.
If you're interested in seeing more work samples, such as my live reporting, or would like to get in touch with me about potential assignments, I'd be happy to hear from you.
